Voice placement interviews for the Children’s Choirs for the 2026/27 season will be held on May 9th and 16th, 2026.

Tuition

Tuition for the Children’s Choirs for the 2026/27 season is:

$150 - Full Season
$25 - Each additional child from the same family

Parents of children for whom the cost is prohibitive are encouraged to submit a Student Scholarship Form to the Chorale Treasurer.

Rehearsals

Regular rehearsals are on Monday nights from 5:15 to 6:30pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Rehearsals for the 2026/27 season begin Monday, August 31st.

Membership Contract

Children’s Choir members are asked to submit a copy of the Membership Contract at their first rehearsal. It should be signed by the singer and their parent or guardian. The contract outlines the expectations of participating in the choir, including attendance, behavior, and concert dress; it also serves as a medical release and release of information for publicity purposes.

Handbook

The Dubuque Chorale Children’s Choir Handbook covers everything choir members and parents need to know about the organization. It includes contact information, rehearsal schedules, weather cancellation procedures, tuition and scholarship policies, what to bring to rehearsals, what to wear to concerts, the Children's Choirs code of conduct, and a calendar of rehearsals and concerts for the entire season.

FAQ

During the placement interview, your singer will get a chance to meet the directors. They will listen to your singer's voice by asking them to sing Happy Birthday. This gives the directors the opportunity to see how high and low your singer can sing to see where their voice really shines. Additionally, the directors will ask your singer to match a pitch from the piano and from a voice. This is NOT an audition; it's merely a chance to get to know your singer and their voice before we begin rehearsals.
