Welcome to the Dubuque Chorale

This is the online home of the Dubuque Chorale.

Founded in 1971 by former director Dennis Williams, the Dubuque Chorale has distinguished itself as an important part of the musical life of Dubuque.

In 2006, Francis Vogt, assistant professor of music at Clarke College, took over as director of the Chorale after the retirement of Williams.

Under Vogt’s direction, the Chorale continues to be one of the premiere musical groups in the tri-states.

“Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.”

In May of 2009, the leadership of the Dubuque Chorale changed, as Francis Vogt, director of the Chorale since 2006, stepped down and we were joined by Dr. Robert Demaree, director of choral activities at the University of Wisconsin at Platteville.  Click here to read Dr. Demaree’s bio, and join us in welcoming him to the Dubuque music community.
